(BASE CLASS)
The Divine Channeler follows the path of the cleric but is able to channel divine power with surprising ease. She is able to perform the same tasks as her fellow divine spellcasters but with virtually no study; to her, it comes naturally. In any case, Divine Channelers cast their spells naturally, as much through force of personality as through study. Though this gives them extraordinary divine abilities no normal person could ever match, they see their gift as a call to action, and so in some ways lag behind their more studious colleagues.

- Proficiencies: A Divine Channeler gains proficiencies with Simple Weapons, Light and Medium Armour, and Shields.

SPELLCASTING
To cast a spell, the Divine Channeler must have a Charisma score of 10 + the spell level. The DC of a Favored Soul's spell is 10 + Spell Level + Charisma Modifier. A Divine Channeler's caster level is equal to his class level. He has access to any spell from the Cleric spell list, and casts spells as a Sorcerer does.

Favored Soul has been renamed to Divine Channeler. (Credit to Takezo for the name.)
There was discussion about changing the class to match Sorcerers for spells known per day, but given the lack of heavy armor, the lack of domains, and the lack of an extra companion (such as a familiar), we're going to give this class time to be tested thoroughly. For now, we want to see if the sheer variety the Divine Channeler has is balanced out its survivability and utility in party compositions.

Divine Channeler has been re-designed to "Know" all spells in the cleric spell list per level per day, like Sorcerers gain spells known per day.
This will, eventually, allow Divine Channeler to play nice with the Spell Widget.
Divine Channelers made before 05.18.2025 will need to be de-leveled one level of Divine Channeler, then re-leveled for this to take effect.
