The Goddess's Light (Sacred Items)
The Sunsword: This heavy golden sword burns with a brilliant fiery light. Its hilt is wrapped in black leather, its pommel and guards elaborately engraved with stylized suns. The arcane power emanating from this weapon is enormous, and it would be impressive in battle.
The Lady's Footpints: During one of her many visits to Port Sunrise, the Sun Goddess, as the Lady of Light, left burning footprints in the Temple of the Sun in Port Sunrise. These footprints were carefully moved, stone and all, to the center of the temple.
The Goddess's Gaze (Places of worship)
Temple of the Sun: The Temple of the Sun in Port Sunrise is the first, and grandest, of the Goddess's places of worship. Situated near the Castle of the Sun, the Church is poised to give advice and defense to the rulers of Glorwing at a moment's notice.
Sunbeams: The Sunbeams are small shrines, often outdoors, in most of the other towns of Glorwing.
The Church in War
From the center of worship in Port Sunrise, the mighty Sun Church was among the first to feel the impact of the civil war that fell upon the Kingdom of Glorwing. Almost immediately the faithful were split among the Loyalists, those who followed the Regent, and the Victors, those who chose to follow the young daughter of King Victor Lumens IV. The Loyalists remained in Port Sunrise, while the Victors made their way to Eagle's Nest.
The Victors were given a fairly large moral victory when the Goddess herself, accompanied by the Helmsman, descended to the town and affirmed Crysannia Mirel's lineage. Though her time on Wilwarin was short, she left with a simple message: "Freedom is yours, forevermore is the world."
The divided Sun Church did little to directly influence the war. The number of Sun Guards had long since been diminished. Still, their healing and other divine magics were often sought for combat, both during and after.
When the dust settled and the fate of the Kingdom had been decided in favor of the Lumens line, the Church began its slow reintegration. All still followed the precepts, but many were at odds with each other. Alessandra Terrentius was elected as High Priestess during this arduous process, with the caveat that she could step down after. However, reintegration is difficult, and still continuing. It's hard to say when we can truly call the task complete.
